Kit-A-Long Progress

Here is my kit as it stands I placed the old box in the background for fun.
Here is the brick section before and after painting. All painting is done in a spray booth with forced air vented to the outside. The plastic was directly sprayed with Floquil Caboose Red mixed with 25% universal thinner. I used a single action internal mix airbrush for this project.
I show the airbrush ready and cleaned after spraying as I encourage the cleaning of your airbrushes to keep them ready.
The walls were cut from Evergreen Styrene V-Groove .080” spacing and .020” thick. I painted them light green using Depot Green and Reefer White. After installation I tried to touch up some of the corners but the mix was not the same so I airbrushed the inside as assembled being careful not to over spray.
On the left you can see the first pass of Reefer Yellow over the Roof Brown and the installation of the green walls inside the second floor. On the right you see the little bit of faded paint effect that I got in the lower right side. It is necessary to remove the paint after only a short time and I am not sure if the new thinner will do the same job as Dio-Sol did. Inside you see the control panel and our guests but also notice the plastic vents on the frames of the windows. I had to remove these with a chisel blade on a knife and touch up the area before inserting the glass.
More to come but that is all for now please check the October News Letter for more information on the project.
